Pictured above is an NOS 1962 Corvette part #5044479 motor from our inventory. Note that the plated parts do not look like a shiny new trash can like some other rebuilders’ motors!

This is what you do NOT want in a “restored” wiper motor:
The wiper motor below was received from a customer who sent his original 1957 #5047991 wiper motor to another rebuilder. He received a different motor with an incorrect main case that has a weep hole like 5044266 and 5044479 1958-1962 motors. Bright zinc plating was used on the front cover and end cap. Incorrect screws were used in the end cap (they should be rivets). Even the metal actuator clip was installed incorrectly. It is unfortunate that some owners receive their motor from other rebuilders with bright zinc plated parts on an aluminum case that appears sandblasted. Pictures do not show how improperly restored these motors really are! GM never produced wiper motors that look like this. Many different sources are available for Corvette Wiper Motor Restoration.

This is what happens when the do-it-yourself guy attempts to tape off openings and glass bead a wiper motor to “clean it up”. Must be fully disassembled to restore the motor.
