Has your Corvette tachometer stopped working as you would like? Does it no longer measure RPMs or, well, anything? For some Corvette owners, a properly functioning tachometer isn’t necessary for their Corvette. However, we offer the kind of Corvette tachometer repair, restoration, and more for the Corvette owner who refuses to ever settle. We can make your Corvette tachometer “as good as new” literally. To that end, we can repair it, restore it, offer a new one, and so much more.
Why Repair/Restoration is So Important for Your Tachometers
Simply put, because a Corvette tachometer has to be accurate. To ensure that accuracy, your tachometer has to be properly calibrated. This isn’t the kind of thing that the layperson could do easily by themselves (to say nothing of accuracy). So often, the first magnet (or “worm”) has to be charged and discharged as required. Then, the spring tension of the speed cup has to be adjusted properly. Again, this isn’t something you can do with a screwdriver and some spare time. Instead, it requires a machine that was specifically and solely designed for that purpose. Here, we can make sure that your tachometer is calibrated exactly as it should be.
What Tachometer Entails (and What it Can Include)
Do you need help with a Corvette tachometer from 1953 through 1967? If so, we offer a “base cost” package that can make your tachometer exactly as it should be. This “base cost” includes complete disassembly, cleaning, and restoring the case. That may sound like a lot, but it’s only some of what this includes. Additionally, we’ll rebuild or replace the internal mechanism, whichever is most appropriate. From there, we’ll calibrate the tachometer. Additionally, if you’d like, we may be able to offer refacing services, refinishing ones, and so much more.
Complete, Hard to Find Tachometer Units
You may have read on our site where it says how we “repair, rebuild, and restore all Corvette tachometers from 1953 through 1974,” and thought: “great, but I have a 1975 Corvette tachometer that’s acting up.” We’ve still got you covered. At CS of MD West, you can find tachometers from Corvettes from 1975-1982. The difference with those models is, however, that we strongly recommend complete replacement. To that end, we offer Corvette tachometers from those years as complete units. Additionally, you can choose to restore the inner and outer bezel as well, if necessary. Keep in mind: we offer all versions of those tachometers, so we’ve got the ones that you need.
Beyond Tachometers
We can repair tachometers, restore them, or offer complete units if necessary. We also offer repair and/or restoration for your Corvette glove box, headlight motors, wiper motors, dash clusters, and so much more. Beyond that, you can find so many NOS, reproduction parts, and more right here at our site. We’re always getting new parts in, too. So, if you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for right now, give us a call. We can probably help you out at (800) 638-6450.
