Description
Early-1963 Corvette Restored Original Wiper Motor
Restored original Wiper Motor with attached washer pump correct for very early production 1963 Corvettes. Early-production 1963 Corvettes used a different design wiper motor than the later models. They did use the 5044518 stamped end cap, but the main case was the same as those commonly used on passenger car applications. They are easily identified by (1) the lack of a casting number and (2) a casting rib in place of a “closed D” shaped opening in the uppermost mount bolt location (see image). Restored on the premises with our Type III service, this Wiper Motor is correct for judging. Round-head aluminum rivets are used in the end cap, as original. (Some “restorers” use incorrect rivets or bolts.) Correct fasteners throughout. This wiper motor uses the one piece semi-transparent “Rochester” type valve, also as original. GM number 5044518.
